School Uniform

Millennium Primary School is a unique school in that no school uniform is required.

We do however ask that children come to school in practical, comfortable clothes which they can move freely in. Children should wear footwear which is safe and promotes good foot health: the soles and heels should be of modest depth. They should not be of the 'flip-flop' or 'sling-back' or similar style, nor made of wood or other rigid material. If wellington boots are worn in inclement weather, your child should bring a change of footwear for use inside school. Jewellery, make-up and nail varnish are not permitted.

PE Kit
Once your child has started at school, they will be allocated a house and you can buy a t-shirt or sweatshirt in the related colour for your child to wear on PE days and sports days. We do have a supplier for these if you would like your child to have the school logo on their t-shirt, or you can buy a plain t-shirt in the correct team colour.

On PE days, your child will need to come into school in their PE clothes.

PE kit with the school logo can be purchased from Caseys Schoolwear

If you do not wish to purchase a PE kit, please note that plain items in your child's house colour are acceptable and can be purchased from many other different retailers.

Indoor PE
All children require shorts and their house coloured t-shirts, bare feet or plimsolls.  Training shoes are not encouraged as they are primarily used as outdoor footwear. The wearing of jewellery is not permitted in school and long hair must be tied back at all times.

Outdoor PE
Much of course depends on the weather - in warm weather the same uniform as above may be suitable, but in the winter or during cooler weather tracksuit bottoms are to be worn and a sweatshirt in their house colour. Trainers or plimsolls may be worn in the playground.

Swimming Kit
Children need a one-piece costume and a towel. Goggles are not permitted. Children will have to remove any earrings. Swimming hats are required and are non-negotiable following the health and safety policy of the swimming venue. Swimming lessons usually take place in Year 5 and you will be notified when they are scheduled to begin.

Please remember to put your child's name on all of their items - this helps us return it to you if your child loses it.
