Road Safety workshop in Key Stage 1
KS1 had a special road safety workshop this morning. Both Year 1 and Year 2 have learnt all about road safety and what we need to do to be safe near the roads. We found out about zebra crossings, pelican crossings, lollipop men and women. We have to think first, stop, look and listen when crossing roads. We must make sure that we ask the lollipop person if it is safe to cross the road, check to see if there are any cars coming and then cross the road with an adult holding their hand.
When crossing roads at night, we learnt that we need to ‘be bright to be seen'. We can carry fluorescent items - coats, bags, gloves, key rings, bag tags, umbrellas - to reflect the lights in the street and on cars.
