Mayor's Fund for London

Over the past few years, Millennium has worked closely with the Mayor's Fund for London (MFL), a charity which supports young people in their education. With the support of MFL, we have been able to buy engaging new maths resources and run an after school maths club for our keen mathematicians. In September 2016, some of our children who had attended maths club, were invited to a special breakfast event at City Hall where they were able to share all the amazing things they had done during their time at maths club. They were a real credit to the school!

After three years of attending the heats of the Mayor's Fund for London 24 Challenge, in April 2016, we finally made it through to the Finals. Jen and our fabulous team of Year 5s - Alex, Raina and Luke - worked their socks off and battled their way to 3rd place. We are really proud of all their hard work and are looking forward to them training the new team for 2016-2017. Check out their personalised team shirts and their amazing accomplishment in the official event video.

We have been running an after school Maths Club which has benefitted many children over the years. They have had the opportunity to tackle Maths in a fun, engaging and real life way through cooking, sports and games. The Mayor's Fund for London have produced a promotional video for the launch of their maths club website to support other schools in setting up their own Maths club. Check out the vidoe below, can you spot Julie-Ann and the gang?
